Claire Seaman

Claire Seaman : 1st Jan 2001

Claire Seaman is currently Academic Director [Management and Enterprise] at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh researching family businesses and business families.

From a background in agri-business, an interest in small businesses, in a more general sense, developed until it became apparent that the issues being investigated were family challenges rather than business issues.

Researching the ways in which family prioritise, their business needs and the social/community interaction that develops in parallel, offers a huge challenge to the UK - a challenge all the more important because family firms are the economic bedrock, representing somewhere between 60-80% of all businesses.

If you would like to contact Claire directly regarding her work in this area, please email cseaman@qmu.ac.uk or look for more information at http://qmu.academia.edu/ClaireSeaman
